GENERAL INFORMATION
In the fall of 2005 an exciting new era of bird conservation in boreal forest will come into being. The Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation (BCBC) will open its doors for the first time in November, 2005. The product of many years of hard work and partnership between the LSLBO and Parks and Protected Areas (Alberta Community Development), this world-class facility will go far in advancing conservation of boreal forest birds. The centre is over 6,000 square feet in size and provides a laboratory; research library; office space and computer work stations for staff; volunteers, and visiting researchers/educators. Public services include reception, sales, fast foods, indoor & outdoor exhibits, and education, volunteer, and ecotourism programs both onsite and through provincial outreach programs.
