LAKESHORE STEWARDS PROGRAM
The Lake Steward Program was established to encourage the local community to set and achieve conservation goals. The Lesser Slave Lake Stewardship Program brings people together for the common goal of watershed and ecosystem protection. Anyone who shares such environmental values can get involved and make a difference now and for the future of Lesser Slave Lake by becoming a Lake Steward.
People with an interest in bird conservation can participate by taking part in one of many options within the Stewardship Program. Landowners can agree to protect habitat on their land, or care for their property using environmentally friendly alternatives. Boaters and fishermen can learn and share proper etiquette around reeds in order not to impact nesting birds or spawning fish. Outdoor enthusiasts can monitor the threats to important bird habitat.
If you are interested in getting involved in the Lakeshore Stewards Program, contact the Conservation Educator at 780-849-7117 or education@lslbo.org.
