The Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory members and staff were very excited to receive funding yesterday from our local Rotary Club to help us provide more winter programs for local students and families at the Boreal Centre. With this funding, we will be able to purchase more youth snowshoes for our school field trips as well as extra cross-country ski equipment so that more local families can get out on our trails to enjoy nature. Many of our visitors to the Boreal Centre are trying these winter sports for the very first time, so we are hoping to spark a lifelong excitement for winter outdoor fun. The LSLBO was just one of many local non-profit organizations that received funding this week for special community projects.
