Honouring
Sara Kimberlee Scobie
Sept 9, 1983 – March 13, 2008
Our Executive Assistant, Sara Scobie, was killed in a tragic accident on March 13, 2008.
She started with the LSLBO as an Assistant Bander in 2006 and she adored her time at the banding lab with Richard. In 2007, Sara began work at the new Boreal Centre as the Information Officer and last Fall, she became our new Executive Assistant.
Sara loved the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation, the LSLBO, the people she worked with, and we loved her. She believed strongly in our vision and shared our excitement and passion.
She had a special place in her heart for the junior bird club and her family told us that she would regularly go home and tell stories of their adventures.
And of course, the BCBC was where she met her soulmate and husband Will Faughan when he spent the summer as our Boreal Interpreter.
In her brief time with us, she had amazing impact on all of us. She was an integral part of our world at the Boreal Centre and the LSLBO.
We are really only beginning to comprehend how much she meant to all of us.
