Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts everyone who has donated to our Birdathon fundraiser. Your wave of support yesterday was exactly what we needed to find a fantastic 99 species over 10 hours despite the miserable weather and inactive birds! Our highlight of the year was an Upland Sandpiper - a species which far prefers Alberta's Grasslands. The full species list is here: www.lslbo.org/weekly-banding-reports/birdathon-2026/There is still time to donate to bring us over $1,000 raised if you haven't yet: www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/Birds_Canada/p2p/birdathon26/team/lesser-slave-lake-bird-observa... ... Team Tanager (l to r: Bronwyn Robinson, Julia Ritter, Robyn Perkins, and Wayne Bowles) stopped by the centre this morning rocking their 2026 Birdathon T-shirts. They had recorded an impressive 69 species on a very slow day at the station and they were looking hard for more. Good luck!!If you would like to help support Team Tanager's Birdathon day and their LSLBO fundraising efforts, you can visit: www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/Birds_Canada/p2p/birdathon26/team/lesser-slave-lake-bird-observa... ... Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory
Today is our Birdathon fundraising run and it's the gloomiest, quietest day for birds we've had this week. We're scouring for all the species, but could use your support and encouragement!
