While Fall Migration Monitoring continues to be slow this season, our Owl Monitoring program has started up quickly. Since August 31, we have banded 24 Northern Saw-whet Owls! So far, it has been a pretty quiet fall migration at the station but we did add a new species to our list! Meet species #112. The first Merlin ever banded at the LSLBO. For more info, check out the station report.

Due to increased bear activity at the banding station, conservation officers have CLOSED our site until further notice. Hopefully the bears will finish eating all the berries and move on soon. We will let you know when we are open again for visitors.
